I had a bit of a play with my favourite new toy (GIGABYTE Z87X-OC) running Intel 4770K and tripple crossfire 7970 and nailed the global 3DMARK03 world record tonight. Haswell is exceptionally fast clock for clock. It easily beats Ivy Bridge in benchmarks like 3D03 with up to 10% lower frequency.

SniperOz from TeamAU moves into #3 spot in HWBOT OC League (i.e. non-sponsored extreme OC league that use retail hardware) with a some monster scores using a GIGABYTE Z87X-OC and GTX Titan. Most impressive scores were single card world records in Unigine Heaven DX11 Extreme Preset and 3DMARK03 achieved last week.

James T (youngpro) from TeamAU created a handy little tool which allows overclockers to change the speed of their system on the fly with 4 separate profiles that ties into GTL (GIGABYTE Tweak Launcher) software. He calls it Hotkey Control Tool. EasyTune 6 used to have this function on previous chipset but it hasn’t been implemented yet on Z77 as software team is hard at work with a complete refresh of the ET tool.
In the meantime you can use this nifty tool to jump frequencies as simply as hitting function keys (F1, F2, F3 and F4). Keys are fully programmable and I’ve made a brief video explaining how to use it but for a full description make sure you jump to James’ blog AT THIS LINK.

I knew SniperOZ, Carl, had a bit more room in his setup sporting a GIGABYTE Z77X-UP7 running 4WAY 7970 and sure enough went to global number 1 spot today after a productive bench session overnight. Benchmark in question is Unigine Heaven Xtreme Preset.

Atomic Magazine in Australia held its last event and gave away a perfect PC with a host of cool hardware including GIGABYTE Sniper 3 gaming board. TeamAU was in attendance with some overclocking and freezing of other stuff, namely some grapes, apples, pizza slices and a Samsung smartphone which was captured on video.
The boys also managed to pickup a global #3 3DMARK06 score with a GIGABYTE Z77X-UP7, 3770K CPU clocked at 6.55GHz and a pair of 5970 GPUs!
Yup, a Samsung smartphone was frozen with liquid nitrogen and torched for good measure, epic!
